Autumn – a time for change

Over the past few weeks we’ve been very busy creating new small business office spaces here at Watlington Business Centre.

The ‘Hare and Hounds’ at 1 The High Street is a former coaching inn with a fascinating history. (John Hampden was said to have stayed here in 1643, the night before the Battle of Chalgrove. Apparently, he left a chest containing money for the payment of troops in the care of the landlord, but he was fatally wounded in the battle so he never collected the chest!)

Fast forward about 370 years and the Hare and Hounds became home to Raw Talent Academy, the recruitment business led by Apprentice winner Lee McQueen. RTA have recently moved to larger premises closer to London and this has spurred us into creating more facilities for smaller businesses employing between 1 and 4 people.

Our team are now transforming the former ballroom, complete with inglenook fireplace, into spacious serviced office accommodation. The high-ceilinged offices also benefit from natural light from the large traditional sash windows.

Later this year, the main entrance and reception for the Business Centre will also move to the new address of 1 High Street and the blue double doors opposite the Town Hall.

If you’d like to find out more about our support for small businesses, including serviced offices, telephone handling, postal address and hot-desks, please do just call and speak to Nicola or Jo, or call in for a chat. All our contact information is here.
